Why does humidity matter?
Comfort isn't only temperature. Humidity changes how a home feels and how its air behaves.
Humidity is the amount of moisture in the air, and it changes how warm or cool a space actually feels. Dry winter air feels colder than the thermostat reads; humid summer air feels warmer and stickier.
Beyond comfort, humidity affects how air interacts with your building. Very dry air can dry out materials and airways; very humid air can encourage condensation and the issues that come with it.
Managing humidity is part of managing the whole home environment — it's connected to ventilation, equipment run time, and the building envelope, not just a standalone dial.
